About Xcel Rebates.

“Currently, the most significant rebates are available for cold-climate Mini-Splits. Xcel offers a rebate of $2200 per condenser, meaning that the more single-zone systems you install, the more you can save. There is no limit on the number of systems per household, and we have assisted a single customer in receiving $11,000 for installing five condensers in their home.”

  • Efficiency Minimums: 18 SEER2, 11.5 EER2, 8.5 HSPF2**
  • Additional Requirements: Must have a low temp heating efficiency (COP at 5° F >= 1.75 AND on ashp.neep.org. The heating capacity at 5° F must be at least 70% of the 47° F rated heating capacity.
  • Rebate: $2,200

How Much Do Systems Cost?

"Daikin Mini-Splits pricing can vary based on several factors. The pricing provided here is for a basic installation and is applicable to customers located in the Front Range and Denver Area. If you live more than 60 minutes from the Denver Area, the cost will increase due to travel times. For single-story homes, units that need to be installed above the first floor may cost more, depending on the access to the installation area by ladder. Additionally, the cost may increase if there is a need for a connection of 15 feet or more between the indoor and outdoor units. Upgrades to the electrical system can also increase installation costs. Supply chain disruptions and material costs have increased over the past few years, leading to expected price increases in the future. Prices are subject to change at any time, and the final cost will be determined only after we visit your location for a free estimate."

A heat pump is a device that can heat or cool a space by transferring heat from one place to another. In heating mode, it extracts heat from the outside air, ground, or water source and transfers it inside. In cooling mode, it removes heat from inside the building and releases it outside. Heat pumps are energy-efficient alternatives to traditional heating and cooling systems because they move heat rather than generate it.

SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. It is a measure of the efficiency of an air conditioning system over an entire cooling season, calculated by dividing the total cooling provided during the season by the total electric energy consumed. The higher the SEER rating, the more energy-efficient the air conditioner is, leading to lower electricity bills and reduced environmental impact.

EER stands for Energy Efficiency Ratio. It is a measure of the efficiency of an air conditioning system at a specific operating condition, usually a temperature of 95°F (35°C) outdoor and 80°F (27°C) indoor. The EER is calculated by dividing the cooling capacity of the air conditioner (in British Thermal Units or BTUs) by the electrical power input (in watts) at that specific operating condition.

Unlike SEER, which is a seasonal average efficiency rating, EER provides a snapshot of the system’s efficiency at a specific point in time. A higher EER rating indicates a more energy-efficient air conditioner.

HSPF stands for Heating Seasonal Performance Factor. It is a measure of the efficiency of a heat pump over an entire heating season. HSPF is calculated by dividing the total heating output of the heat pump during the heating season by the total electric energy input during the same period.

Similar to SEER for cooling, a higher HSPF rating indicates a more energy-efficient heat pump for heating. The HSPF rating is particularly relevant in colder climates where heating is the primary concern, as it reflects the efficiency of the heat pump’s operation in heating mode.

Only Xcel Customers qualify for the Rebates.

Gas or electric, you do not need to have both to qualify from Xcel.
